The easiest way to willingly give your all to humanity is to first willingly give yourself and your heart to God. You cannot lay it all down for your brothers or sisters if you have not submitted yourself to God (who is Love).
The leaders of homes, nations, businesses and of churches that devalue, maltreat and oppress their family, citizens, staff and congregations cannot be fully blamed. It is an uphill task to fully appreciate and to love unreservedly the people that God gave you to lead without a genuine and intimate knowledge of the rich love of God.
Until you have given your all to the Lord, you cannot stop maltreating and oppressing those you rule over or are giving to you in stewardship. A man (and vice versa) who mistreats his wife is lacking the sweet love of God. Without Love (God), humanity has no value and meaning to the loveless and godless.
1 John 4:7-10 (AMP) clarifies this: “Beloved, let us [unselfishly] love and seek the best for one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves [others] is born of God and knows God [through personal experience]. The one who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love. [He is the originator of love, and it is an enduring attribute of His nature.]”
2 Corinthians 8:3, 5 – “[3]…and beyond their power they were willing of themselves; [5] And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.”
