I was sitting in church one day and reflecting on the end of the year when I heard, “When you say it is done and finished, God says, ‘I have just come down.’” We have just a little over two months left in 2024, but I know God will still do something “2 much” in your life before this year runs out.
Peter sat in prison, thinking, “I am finished. All hope is gone. James has been killed by Herod, and I am next.” He fell asleep not because he had faith and was rested but because he had given up all hope. How do I know he wasn’t expecting a miracle? Because when the miracle happened, he thought he was dreaming or in a vision. One proof of faith is that when the miracle occurs, you are not surprised; you are confident God will come for you.
Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.” So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.
- Acts 12:8-9.
When all hope seemed lost, God sent His angel to bring about Peter’s release.
Even in your darkest moments, remember that God is at work. He sees your struggles and hears your cries. Expect Him to show up in ways you never imagined, even as you keep having faith in Him. There is always more to experience in God.
